Print Services FAQ’s

Q: What are the prices of print products?
A: Pricing of print products will vary based on size, number of pages, and cover option. Click here (US/CAN) for pricing information.

Q: Are there minimum and maximum page limits on print products?

A: Minimum and maximum pages for each print output type are as follows:

  • Photo books have a minimum of 22 project pages (11 book papers printed front and back), and can have up to 100 project pages. Hard cover and soft cover photobooks have a minimum of 24 project pages, with the first and last page as the front and back covers.
  • Swatchbooks have 26 project pages (13 pages printed front and back).
  • Journals have 2 project pages—the front and back cover.
  • Calendars have a minimum and maximum of 26 project pages; a front cover page, two pages for each month, and an end page.
  • Greeting Cards have a minimum of one project page and a maximum of four project pages. You have the option to create the front of the card, two inside pages, and the back of the card.
  • Postcards have a minimum of one project page, and a maximum of two project pages. Double-sided printing is included in the price.
  • Tri-fold cards have a minimum of one project page (three panels per page) and a maximum of two project pages. Double-sided printing is included in the price.
  • Tags have a minimum of one project page and a maximum of two project pages. Double-sided printing is included in the price.
  • Individual pages have a five page per project minimum. All pages in a project must be the same size. More than one project can be uploaded to the same order, but each project will be subject to the five page minimum. Pages come printed single-sided with the My Digital Studio and Stampin’ Up! logo on the back of pages.

Q: How do I order a print service product item?
A: Once you've finished your project in My Digital Studio, click on Share Project (found either on the top menu bar or in the design center on the right side of the page). Select the desired print option, and the print wizard will guide you through the process.

Q: Do I have to use the print service or can I print at home?
A: My Digital Studio has several output options, including your own printer. Using Stampin' Up!'s print services is the best way, however, to make sure Stampin' Up!'s exclusive colors print correctly.

Q: What can we expect for shipping times for print products?
A:  Professionally printed products will be printed and shipped directly from our print vendor. There will be a processing time of two to five days to have your project actually printed, and then our standard shipping times will apply. Longer processing times may occur during busy holiday seasons. Expedited handling (the time it takes to print/process your project) is not available.

Q: How does printing impact Stampin' Up!'s shipping policy?

A: Stampin' Up! works with an external print supplier to fulfill orders placed for My Digital Studio's professional print services. As such, printed items are shipped directly from the print supplier, and not from Stampin' Up!'s regular distribution center. If an order consists of only professionally printed products (excluding cards), standard Stampin' Up! shipping charges are applied. Shipping costs for cards are dependent on the number of cards ordered and are defined in the My Digital Studio Shipping Policy. If an order consists of both printed and traditional products, a small split shipping fee will be assessed, as packages will be shipped from two different locations to fulfill the order.

Q: Will the copyright appear on the back of my projects?

A: The Stampin' Up!/My Digital Studio copyright will appear on the back of all greeting cards, trifold cards and calendars as an embellishment and will print unless deleted in the software.  The copyright will also appear on photobooks endsheets.  It is not included on postcards, journals, tags, and swatchbooks.

Q: Will the "place text here" or "place image here" text found on My Digital Studio templates actually print on my project?

A: Yes, unless you delete it or replace it with new text. My Digital Studio does not distinguish between text in a designer template and text that you have added to your project. Therefore, you should always remove any text on a template page that you do not want to print before you actually print your project or send it to the professional printer.

Q: Does a barcode print on the back cover of photobook?

A: Yes. This barcode ensures that the content pages created for the inside of the book match the personalized cover, helping to eliminate errors. There is a 2-7/8" x 1-1/8" window on the back cover where the barcode will be placed. If there is an image anywhere in this window it could be covered by a permanent barcode that is 1/4" x 1-3/4". The far right-hand side of the window is 7/8" from the spine and 3/8" from the bottom of the book.

Q: What margins should I use when sending my photobook to the print services?

A: The My Digital Studio software automatically selects the margins/guides (also known as bleed area) that may be trimmed when your project is printed. These guides ensure that page objects within the guides will be printed. Please note that hard cover and soft cover photobooks have a different guide for the front and back cover (first and last page of your project). To manually select a guide area or to view the Book Cover Bleed Area, click View then Guidesand select the correct bleed area option for your current project.  The gray areas will show which portions of your project may be omitted during printing.

Q: What will my cards be like when I have them professionally printed?

A: Greeting cards and postcards will be scored but not folded. Your cards will also come with envelopes, but not Stampin' Up!-brand envelopes.

Q: Will my pages print back-to-back from my home printer?

A: Different printers have varying functionality. You will need to check your printer manual to determine if this functionality is available.

Q: What home printer do you recommend I buy?

A: Stampin' Up! cannot recommend a specific printer for you, but the system requirements information and knowing what types of projects you want to create will help you decide which printer will work best for you.
