Most of what I create in My Digital Studio is cards or scrapbook pages. I know that My Digital Studio can be used for much, much more than that, so I’ve been trying to think outside the box for other uses. I knew I was going to need some quick gifts for upcoming holidays and thought that I could make some cute custom candy bar wrappers.
Using the Seasonal Sentiments Stamp Brush Set, I created wrappers for four different occasions; Halloween, Thanksgiving/Gratitude, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day/Love. The wrappers were very easy to create using the Square Punch, Designer Series Paper, and some stamp brushes. As you can see on the screen shot below, after measuring the candy bar I was able to decide how big to make my square punches.
After creating all of the rectangles to the sizes I needed, I selected them all and used the Align button to left align. I then decided on the Designer Series Paper patterns I wanted to fill the punches with. Once that was decided, I moved all of the filled punches so they were lined up right on top of each other, and then I selected all of the punches and aligned to the left just to make sure they were still lined up. Once that was all done, I grouped the punches so I didn’t accidentally scoot anything when I was putting the rest of it together.
Since I created these wrappers as a set, I just inserted additional pages for each of the four bars then copied and pasted my grouped Designer Series Paper rectangles onto the new pages and switched out the paper patterns.
In addition to the Season Sentiments Stamp Brush Set and the Square Punch, here are the supply lists for the different labels:
| Halloween
Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper Star Punch Oval Punch |
|
Thanksgiving/Gratitude Autumn Elements Stamp Brush Set Travel Log Designer Series Paper Circle Punch |
|
Christmas Berry Christmas Stamp Brush Set Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper |
|
Valentine’s Day/Love Love Birds Designer Series Paper Love Birds Elements Celery Patterns – Stripe Scallop Oval Punch |
|
Once I had all of my layouts designed, it was as easy as printing, trimming around the edges, and wrapping around my candy bars with a bit of SNAIL tape to hold them in place.
