Project 52: The One-Page-a-Week Challenge!

The start of the New Year seemed like a good time to begin a project I’ve wanted to do for quite awhile—Project 52.

You may be familiar with "Project 365"—the photography challenge to take a picture each day as a way to document the year. I loved that concept from the first time I heard it and decided to run with the idea—using My Digital Studio!

The idea behind Project 52 is to document the year’s fun events and everyday moments by creating one page every week of 2011. By the end of the year, I’ll have a complete album!  And what better way to start out my Project 52 than with a title page using two of my favorite recent downloads—the 2011 Notable Desktop Calendar Kit and the Just Believe Stamp Brush Set.

I plan on returning to this page after creating the rest of my book to fill it with some of my favorites from the year. Of course, I had to drop in a few photos as placeholders in the meantime (just to make it feel complete).

I hope you will join me in Project 52 every Friday on the blog.  Make sure to tag your uploaded samples with "Project 52."

Jamie- I created my title page the first week of January and then scrapbooked my week 1 photos in week 2, etc. It works for me to wait until the week ends to start designing the page. SO, like you, I just finished my week 3 page.

What week are we actually on?  If I look at the calendar, it's the end of the 4th week of January, but I just finished my 3rd week of scrapbooking.  Did I miss a week?

I just saw this challenge today.  At the beginning of January I did set for myself to make at least one MDS page each week.  I wanted to make sure I was using MDS regularly.  Mine weren't necessarily going to be about the events that take place each week but I do want to scrap my 2011 in MDS as the year goes on.  I'll work on incorporating my thoughts with your challenge.

I'm not as much of a scrapbooker (though I do scrapbook on occasion), so I think I will take the challenge to create a new card layout on MDS each week. Then at the end of the year I will have 52 card layouts that can be used to create even more designs just by changing a few elements (such as the floral cards in my samples).

Love this idea!!  I may have to wait until after January 25th to start as I'm waiting for SAB to download a TON of MDS stuff.  Thanks for the great idea!!

Hi Amber,

This link will show you how to put a picture into a punch which will give you the rounded corners you want.

That is the only way I know how to do it. HTH!
